Tony graduated from Exeter University and entered the City in 1968. In 1983 he established and ran the Goldman Sachs office in Hong Kong which at the time was only the firm’s second office in Asia. In 1988 he returned to London with Goldman Sachs and worked on various mandates including the privatisation of the UK electricity industry.
Since leaving Goldman Sachs in 1991, Tony has founded and been executive chairman of companies providing corporate finance and asset management services to a wide variety of companies across a range of sectors. He has lived and worked in the USA, UK, France, Japan and Hong Kong and has done business in 30 or more countries worldwide. In addition, Tony has chaired or been a non-executive director (“NED”) of multiple public and private companies in the USA, UK, Europe and Hong Kong.
Tony brings with him a wealth of contacts with companies in natural resources, water provision and other areas of interest to Wishbone.
Richard read Jurisprudence at Oxford and qualified as a Barrister. He has an MBA from the London Business School.
He has founded and co-founded successful companies in natural resources, healthcare, retail and technology.
Richard was Chairman and CEO of AIM quoted Sirius Minerals Plc where he oversaw the transformation of the company into a substantial potash business through a series of acquisitions in Australia, USA and the UK.
He was also the Chairman of Valereum Plc, focused on the linking of conventional, mainstream currency products denominated in USD and GBP into the world of cryptocurrencies.
Previously Richard has been a merchant banker at Samuel Montagu & Co, a management consultant at Arthur D. Little and in the European Leadership Team of Electronic Data Systems.
Jonathan, a qualified accountant with experience in quoted and unquoted companies, has past natural resources experience as Finance Director of Sirius Minerals overseeing the financial aspects of the company through flotation and a series of acquisitions. He spent most of his career working in senior financial positions within the international hotel and leisure industry, including an MBI of County Hotels and a successful exit, and during this time oversaw a number of IPO’s and mergers and acquisitions.
Mr Hutchins is a highly experienced gold specialist and natural resources fund manager, having previously run various funds at M&G Group Plc and several other UK commodity focused funds over the years.
He is a past Chairman and a long standing Member of the FTSE Gold Mines Index Committee and a Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments.
Michael is a qualified accountant, securities professional, computer specialist, and management consultant, educated at Harvard University and Trinity College Dublin. He gained his PhD at the London School of Economics where he was also a Visiting Professor of Innovation & IT. Michael’s natural resources experience dates from 1979 directing research on mapping and satellite imagery that led to him starting companies in seismology, cartography, and oil & gas information for a Swiss firm. In the early 1980s Michael initiated and ran a multi-million dollar oil industry consortium (major partners included Shell, BP, Chevron and Elf Aquitaine) that produced Geodat and MundoCart, which remain standard oil industry datasets for cartography. Michael’s previous roles include several years as a Senior Partner and board member of one of the leading accountancy firms directing global consulting work, and serving as a Director of UK Ministry of Defence research.
During a spell in mergers & acquisitions with Deutsche Morgan Grenfell, Michael co-founded Z/Yen, the City of London’s leading commercial think-tank, where he is Executive Chairman. Michael is a non-executive Director of the United Kingdom Accreditation Service, Emeritus Professor & Life Fellow at Gresham College, Fellow of Goodenough College, Honorary Fellow of King’s College London, Visiting Professor at UCL’s Bartlett School of Sustainable Construction, Past Master of the Worshipful Company of World Traders, Alderman for Broad Street Ward, and Sheriff of the City of London 2019-2021. Michael has been a non-executive Director of Wishbone since its formation.
With more than 20 years international business and finance experience, Jack was admitted as a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in 2009, and his qualifications include an MBA from the Said Business School, University of Oxford and an MACC from the Judge Business School, University of Cambridge.
